In step mouthpiece toothbrushes, the revolutionary devices making huge waves on crowdfunding sites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter. These toothbrushes utilize automatic antibacterial silicone mouthpieces that are designed to fit every adult mouth and can thoroughly brush your teeth in mere seconds.
It’s hardly surprising that the idea would be so successful, it solves a huge problem and makes our lives much more convenient—any entrepreneurs dream. Just think, every day we spend several minutes brushing our teeth and over weeks, months, and years this adds up to be a lot of valuable time that could be better spent with family, relaxing, or chasing a passion.
The mouthpiece works by magnetically attaching to a hand-piece and once placed in the mouth, it’s activated by the click of a single button and the device simultaneously dispenses the perfect amount of toothpaste and vibrates to brush teeth in seconds. Once finished, the user simply needs to return the mouthpiece to its wireless charging station.
As of now, there are two main automatic mouthpiece toothbrushes dominating the scene: The Amabrush and Unico Smartbrush.
Amabrush is far and away the industry leader and brands itself as the “World’s First Automatic Toothbrush.” The toothbrush was a resounding success this year on crowdfunding, raising over $3 million on Kickstarter and over $4 million on Indiegogo.
The toothbrush resembles a mouth-guard or pacifier and automatically brushes teeth in just 10 seconds while killing 99.99 percent of all bacteria. One single charge will last 28 brushing sessions and each container of the brush’s specially-made toothpaste lasts a month and costs just $3. The total price for the Amabrush starts around $95.
The Unico Smartbrush is the new kid on the block but, unlike the Amabrush whose patent is pending, Unico is fully patented and also boasts a significantly faster brushing time of just three seconds. With 43 days to go, the Unico Smartbrush has received almost $200,000 in funding, almost double its initial goal.
To start brushing, a user simply needs to insert toothpaste into the power unit, place in mouth, double tap the activation button, wait three seconds, remove, and then rinse mouth. The mouthpiece toothbrush comes in four different sizes based on height and can suit both adult and children. The Unico Smartbrush also features UV technology to properly disinfect the brush.
